Social media management for Toronto restaurants and cafés

A restaurant’s feed is its front window. Specials change, the patio opens, the kitchen is busy, and nobody has time at 3 p.m. to write a caption. The Post Machine writes and schedules the week from your menu, your photos and your notes, so the window is never blank.

What The Post Machine posts for restaurants

The special of the day
A dish, a short line on what is in it, and when it is available. Pulled from the specials you tell us about.
New on the menu
A new item or seasonal change, with your own photo if you have one in the library.
Catering and group orders
A steady reminder, mostly on LinkedIn, that offices can order from you.
Hours and holidays
Long-weekend hours and closures, so customers do not show up to a locked door.
Behind the counter
The people and the process: baking early, a supplier, a regular. Posts that make a place feel like a place.
Order ahead and pre-order
A reminder to pre-order for the weekend, with the cut-off time.

Which networks: Instagram and Facebook carry most of a restaurant’s local reach, with photos doing the work. LinkedIn is worth adding if you cater for offices.

Through the Toronto year

The weekly plan uses seasonal hooks when they genuinely fit the dates. For restaurants, that tends to look like this:

Spring
Patio season starts, and CafeTO street patios reopen.
January and July
Winterlicious and Summerlicious, if you take part.
Fall
Seasonal menus, TIFF week and back-to-routine catering.
December
Holiday parties, gift cards and holiday hours.

A note on accuracy

Only the specials, prices and hours you have told The Post Machine about are used. It will not invent a dish or a deal.

Every plan includes Approve everything and Autopilot, so you choose how closely you check.

Questions from restaurants owners

Can The Post Machine use photos of my own dishes?

Yes. Upload photos to your photo library with a short description, and the best match is put on each post. You can also add your own photo to a single post.

How does it know about this week’s special?

You tell it in your brand notes or in material you upload. It writes only from what you have given it, so a special you have not mentioned will not appear.

Can I approve posts before they go out?

Yes. Choose Approve everything and nothing is published until you say so, or choose Autopilot to let posts run on schedule with a weekly email of what is coming.
